Yes, I've been to Easter Island, and it's an amazing place. If you ever get the chance to visit, don't hesitate, just go. Getting there can be a bit of an issue, because it's quite a way from anywhere else.. It's a four and a half hour flight from Tahiti and about the same from Santiago.
The reason to visit the island is to see the standing heads or Moai as the locals call them. There are many sites dotted around the island where you can see them, some upright, others fallen. They do have a magical feel to them, and even when there are loads of tourists infront of them, they don't lose that special feeling.
There's more to do on the island than just visit the Moai, there's a small sandy beach if that's your thing (the rest of the island has cliffs or rocky beaches), and there are a couple of volcano's that you can climb (or even cycle) up!
When I visited there was only one ATM machine on the island, which only accepted MasterCards, but other than that you can obtain anything that you really need to on the island.
