I spent a magical night in a Ger (a traditional Mongolian tent) about 50km from Ulan Bator - there was nothing but rolling country side as far as the eye could see.
Even though the temperature outside during the night dropped below freezing, the inside of the Ger was kept *very* warm due to the wood burning stove in the centre of the Ger - it got so hot that I had to open the door during the night!
Even in the depths of Mongolia you can still get a mobile phone signal!
The next day I rode a horse (for the first time) to a working Ger about two miles away, there I met up with a local family, with their collection of goats, cows, horses and yaks!
